Most of my friends are coming over for a cooking session with no other than… myself. I have been a known cook and party host at work and on my street. I would always host cooking and socializing events with no occassion. I know I am not so much of a cook. They probably come not to know any of my recipes, as all of my recipes they already know, but to see how I host parties and to feel the sense of community that usually is present at my events. Whenever I host parties I would always play classical or instrumental music, decorate my house with flowers and with lighted scented candle sets. I would also bring out my finest china and goblets. I also serve the best wine and cheese. Instead of hiring a caterer for the food and drinks, I would usually cook the food with my guests. They are usually very willing to help out in the kitchen or setting up the table. When the food is ready everyone sits around my long table to enjoy the meal and the conversation. I would always end the day by giving away some small tokens. These tokens could be as small as bookmarks prepared by my kids to big wine bottles. The most appreciated gift I have ever given would be the scented candle kits from VillageCandle.com. For this coming event I have ordered some kitchen candles, some I’d be using at the event and most I would give out as presents.
